The "PRESIDENTIAL INVITATIONAL"  on Sunday, February 15, 2009 is the team fundraiser.  The Neptune Swim Team sponsors a swim meet to raise funds for our children/team.  This money stays with the team and has recently been used to purchase new lane lines (2008), the Colorado timing system (and all that it involves) the score board in the deep pool and other miscellaneous support equipment and needs for the team.  We also use these funds for our team gift.  At our banquet in spring every swimmer recieves a gift.  Past gifts have included:  towels, flannel pants, lite backpacks, etc. 

It is important that every Neptune swimmer attends this event.

It is equally important that each swimmer's family support this event by donating their time to ensure that this meet runs smoothly and efficiently.  Beyond the basic needs of a meet (eg. clerk of course, judges, timers, scorers), we also need Greeters (persons to collect admission fees at the door) Ribbons and Awards, T-shirt Sales and CONSESSION WORKERS for each session (there is a morning and afternoon session!)... and probably more jobs that I can't remember right now.   Melanie Emerson will be posting a list, calling individuals and encouraging all families to register to volunteer!  Please seek her out to tell her what your talents are and she will warmly assign you a duty for this fundraiser.  The Christmas Party will be an excellent opportunity to sign up!

We host over 500 swimmers from around Ohio and Western Pennsylvania at the YSU Natatorium (pool).  This is a very LARGE event!  It is also quite respected among our region. 

Did you know the team would have to sell over 10,000 candy bars to raise the same amount of money we raise from this one event???
